Weddings are often pretty formal events. Brides and grooms typically have clear rules about what guests should wear and what the dress code is. But at this particular wedding, the groom surprised everyone with his outfit.
A TikTok creator shared a video from her friend Catherine’s wedding. She mentioned that just a few months earlier, Catherine had insisted she wasn’t going to fall in love. But then she noted how Catherine was clearly in love that summer.
A snapshot from that photo has appeared on Reddit, and people are sharing their thoughts, but many of them aren’t very nice. In the image, the bride is wearing a stunning white mermaid-style wedding dress, complete with a classic veil and lots of jewelry. On the other hand, the groom looks super laid-back in a black t-shirt, jeans, and white sneakers.
The difference in what they chose to wear has sparked a lot of chatter.
“Grooms wearing jeans at a fancy wedding,” the photo was captioned on Reddit.
“This is probably indicative of the amount of effort he’ll put into the marriage as well,” one person added.
“I wonder how long this marriage lasted. She looks great, he looks like he couldn’t care,” another person gave their two cents.
“He’s just letting her know she has a life of him not giving a f— about her ahead of her,” another commenter vehemently agreed.
One person said, “She looks so gorgeous! I really like her dress. I don’t know what their situation is, but I hope everything goes well for them.”
Another commenter guessed, “I don’t know. Maybe she wanted a dress like this, and he wanted to wear what he had on their first dates. As long as they both like what they’re wearing, that’s what matters.” They also mentioned, “Some might think they are dressed too fancy or not fancy enough, but as long as they feel good in their outfits, that’s what counts.”
