Priscilla Presley’s daughter, Lisa Marie, who tragically died following a bitter divorce and long custody battle, is survived by her twin daughters. The twins, who just turned 16, were called “beautiful” by social media users and were noted for looking just like their iconic family members.
Lisa Marie Presley, the only child of Elvis and Priscilla Presley, passed away before seeing her twin daughters reach the recent milestone of turning 16. Before her death, the daughter of two icons fought for custody of the twins during a shocking divorce from her ex-husband.

Welcoming Twins
In 2008, Lisa Marie gave birth to twin daughters, Harper and Finley Lockwood during her marriage to Michael Lockwood. The twins were born on October 7, joining their half-siblings Riley and Benjamin from Lisa Marie’s previous marriage to Danny Keough.
However, in 2016, Lisa Marie filed for divorce from Michael, which quickly escalated into a bitter custody battle over the twins. She reportedly discovered disturbing content on Michael’s computer, alleging in court that police had seized 80 of his devices, though they had not yet been fully analyzed.
“I was shocked and horrified and sick to my stomach,” Lisa Marie revealed in court papers filed as part of her ongoing divorce. Reports soon emerged that this discovery led to Harper and Finley being temporarily placed under the care of California’s Department of Children and Family Services.
However, in response to media reports that the twins were in foster care, Lisa Marie took to Facebook to set the record straight. She assured the public in part, “Let me put this to rest…the girls have not been in foster care and never will be. The girls have been with me and will be until all this is sorted out.”
The custody battle raged on for years, but everything changed in January 2023 when Lisa Marie passed away at 54. In a statement, Priscilla shared the heartbreaking news, “With a heavy heart, I must announce that my beautiful daughter, Lisa Marie, has passed away.”

Earlier that Thursday, Lisa Marie was rushed to a hospital after suffering an apparent cardiac arrest at her home in Calabasas. According to a spokesperson for the Los Angeles County Sheriff’s Department, emergency personnel responded to a 911 call at her residence, where they found her unresponsive.

Paramedics performed CPR and were able to detect some signs of life before transferring her to the hospital for urgent medical care. A spokesperson for the Los Angeles County Fire Department confirmed the cardiac arrest call and the response to the scene.
Following Lisa Marie’s passing, her ex-husband was appointed the legal guardian of their twin daughters. This decision raised concerns among insiders, as some believed it wasn’t what Lisa Marie would have wanted.
During their bitter divorce, Michael reportedly struggled financially after his attempt to overturn a postnuptial agreement was denied. In March 2023, he filed a petition to be the girls’ guardian ad litem, which a judge approved.
His lawyer, Scott Rahn, assured the court that Lisa Marie’s ex was ready and capable of acting in his daughters’ best interests.
While the legal process appeared amicable, with Michael reportedly on good terms with all parties, a source revealed that he was not initially invited to Lisa Marie’s funeral. Priscilla ultimately helped him attend the ceremony at Graceland.
It remained unclear at the time of writing whether Elvis’s only child had left any specific plans for who would take care of Harper and Finley after her death. Her ex-husband, however, was granted full custody unless another family member contested the decision in probate court.
Along with custody, Michael also gained the authority to represent his daughters in the ongoing legal proceedings over Lisa Marie’s multimillion-dollar trust.
