It is with heavy hearts that we announce the passing of the most beloved actor of our generation.

At the age of 68, SCARFACE actor Ángel Salazar passed away.

Although he was best known for playing Al Pacino’s trusted sidekick Chi Chi in the gangster movie directed by Brian DePalma, Salazar had a long and successful career.

The actor Salazar died over the weekend in his friend’s Brooklyn home while he was sleeping, according to TMZ.

The friend of Wingsong told the news outlet that on Sunday morning, they went to check on Salazar in a room and found his body sleeping.

Although the official cause of death was not made public, the representative said Salazar had heart problems.

The actor and comedian from Cuba was known for saying “Sheck it out” before, during, and after his jokes in stand-up.

Five roles into his acting career, Salazar got the part of Chi Chi, Pacino’s loyal bodyguard Tony Montana in the 1983 cult classic Scarface.

Hollywood moviegoers will always remember how Chi Chi saved Tony’s life in the scary and bloody “chainsaw scene.”

Additionally, it will be tough for them to forget how Chi Chi died when a hit squad hired by drug lord Alejandro Sosa (Paul Shenar) filled his back with bullets.

A later role for Salazar was opposite Tom Hanks in Punchline, a 1988 drama directed by David Seltzer.

A young comedian with a lot of talent helps a housewife get started in stand-up comedy.

Actually, Salazar is a comedian who has been on Last Comic Standing and many HBO comedy specials.

In 1997’s Carlito’s Way, the comedian/actor worked with Pacino and DePalma again.
