This topic has a knack for dividing internet users right down the middle.
These range from the discomfort of being wedged in the middle seat to the collective annoyance caused by a passenger who used a flashing phone charger during a six-hour overnight flight.
And just when you think those stories couldn’t be topped, here comes an incident that completely overshadows them.
This incident occurred on Tuesday, January 16, on Flight SG-268.
The passenger, seated at 14D, headed to the restroom right after the seatbelt sign lit up.
What was expected to be a routine visit turned into a horrifying ordeal when the bathroom door jammed, trapping him inside.
Despite the crew’s best efforts and the help of several passengers, they couldn’t get the door open.
This meant the passenger had to endure being in the cramped toilet space even during the plane’s landing at Kempegowda International Airport.
This note has since gained significant attention online due to the entire ordeal.
The note read, “Sir we tried our best to open the door, however, we could not. Do not panic.
True to their word, as soon as the plane touched down, two engineers came aboard and managed to break down the door.
Following the incident, which attracted global media attention, the airline extended a gesture of goodwill.
“SpiceJet regrets and apologizes for the inconvenience caused to the passenger,” the airline expressed in a formal statement.
In addition to the apology, the passenger was offered a full refund as a compensation for the ordeal endured.
